Nissan may suspend car production in Russia due to coronavirus


The St. Petersburg plant of Nissan LLC Nissan Manufekchuring Rus can suspend the production of cars due to the shutdown of Chinese enterprises for the production of components due to coronavirus. This is reported on February 10 by Interfax with reference to the representative of Nissan. According to him, the shutdown of production may occur in March of this year. If enterprises in China launch on February 17, the plant in St. Petersburg will operate in the regular mode. If there are further delays in China, then a suspension is possible in March, the agency quotes the statement of the representative of the company. At the moment, the representative of Nissan noted, at the St. Petersburg plant there is a stock of components. According to the news agency, the Nissan automobile plant in St. Petersburg was opened in June 2019. Its production capacity allows to produce 100 thousand cars per year. Two cases of coronavirus infection have been detected in Russia so far. Both of the sick are Chinese citizens.

Zenit launch complex on Baikonur reconstructed for Soyuz-5

The reconstruction of the Zenit launch complex for the Soyuz-5 launch vehicles under development at the Baikonur cosmodrome will begin on October 16.
