Chinese Xinjiang universities start opening after quarantine
Universities and colleges are gradually opening in Xinjiang-Uighur Autonomous Region in north-west China following a quarantine linked to the new coronavirus epidemic, Xinhua news agency reported on April 8. The first group of 25 universities and colleges are due to open between 8 and 12 April. Other universities should announce the opening later, the regional department of education reported. Xinjiang Medical University has prepared face masks and disinfectants for educational audiences, dormitories and public vengeance. Body temperature of students at the entrance to educational and residential buildings, as well as dining rooms are measured. At the end of March, Xinjiang had already opened all primary and secondary general education institutions, becoming the first region to carry out such actions after a fracture in the fight against the coronavirus epidemic in the country.
