In Georgia, one of the spiritual persons identified coronavirus - GPC
On 14 April, Archpriest Andria Jagmaidze, Head of the Press Service of the Patriarchate of the Georgian Orthodox Church (GPC), confirmed information that coronavirus infection had been detected in one of the spiritual persons of the GPC. This is reported by journalists of the agency InterpressNews. Jagmaidze said that the infected coronavirus is not the rector of the church, but took part in the divine service a few days ago. It should be noted that information about the infected GPC servant in the Georgian media began to be reported on April 12. It was also reported that the infection was allegedly found in several members of his family. In Georgia, there is a debate over whether churches should be closed to visitors during the quarantine period. Despite the ban on holding mass events, divine services with the participation of parishioners continue in the churches of the GPC. They gather in the yards of churches and are 1.5 meters apart. The police do not suppress divine services, which raises questions among part of the population.
