Mandatory wearing of masks in public places introduced in Iran
Temporary mandatory wearing of masks in closed spaces and in public places is introduced in Iran. This was announced on June 28 by President Hassan Rouhani on IRINN. Wearing protective medical masks is mandatory anywhere where crowding is supposed. In the period from July 5 to July 21, wearing masks will become mandatory. If necessary, this period will be extended. In addition, Rouhani did not rule out the possibility of tightening restrictions in areas of the country with an unfavorable epidemiological situation. Restrictions can be introduced at the initiative of local headquarters to combat coronavirus. The statement of the President of Iran is associated with an increase in the daily number of detected infections with coronavirus per day and with an increase in fatalities among patients with coronavirus. Earlier, the news agency reported 2,465 cases of coronavirus infection confirmed in Iran per day. In total, more than 220 thousand cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection have been detected in the country since the beginning of the pandemic, more than 10 thousand cases of fatality have been recorded.
