Parliament of Uzbekistan approved the new Urban Planning Code
Uzbekistan will introduce public control over the development of master plans for settlements. This is provided for by the new edition of the Urban Planning Code, adopted by the Parliament of the Republic on August 5, the publication Norma.uz reports. According to the document, residents will now be able to participate in the approval of the master plan of the city or village in which they live. Lawmakers believe that this rule will avoid illegal buildings and unauthorized seizure of land. In addition, the Urban Planning Code regulates the acquisition of land for the needs of the state and society. In particular, it will be possible to demolish objects only after the full payment of compensation to legal entities and individuals.
