An earthquake of magnitude 5.4 occurred in Japan, according to the US Geological Survey. The epicenter of the seismic event was located 102 kilometers northeast of the city of Hasaki. The hearth lay at a depth of 10 kilometers. There was no information about possible damage or injuries. The tsunami threat was not announced. According to the news agency, on August 5, an earthquake of magnitude 5.0 occurred off the coast of Papua New Guinea. There were no casualties.

Zenit launch complex on Baikonur reconstructed for Soyuz-5

The reconstruction of the Zenit launch complex for the Soyuz-5 launch vehicles under development at the Baikonur cosmodrome will begin on October 16.
