UAE launches first nuclear power plant in Arab countries


Baraka's first nuclear power plant in the Arab countries began operations in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, UAE Vice President and Dubai ruler Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said on his Twitter page. He also added that a total of four nuclear power plants are planned to be launched in the country, which will be designed to provide a quarter of the state's electricity needs. According to the news agency, on March 4, specialists from the South Korean company Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) completed the loading of nuclear fuel into the first unit of the Baraka NPP for the start of test work.

The reconstruction of the Zenit launch complex for the Soyuz-5 launch vehicles under development at the Baikonur cosmodrome will begin on October 16. The decision on the start date was made following negotiations between the Director General of Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin and the Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan Baghdat Musin. The reconstruction of the launch pad will be carried out by specialists of the Center for the Operation of Ground Space Infrastructure (TsENKI) together with Kazakhstani builders.
