Ambassador: Iran and Azerbaijan pay special attention to strengthening ties
On September 4, the newly appointed Iranian ambassador to Baku, Abbas Mousavi, said that his negotiations with Azerbaijani officials were focused on strengthening bilateral relations. This was reported by the Iranian agency IRNA. On his twitter, Mousavi noted that his talks with Azerbaijani officials and visits to Iranian trade organizations operating in Baku were aimed at rapprochement between the two countries in order to further expand bilateral cooperation. Mousavi stressed that he began his mission only a few days ago, when he presented his credentials to the current president of Azerbaijan. At the same time, the newly appointed ambassador expressed hope for further fruitful and constructive cooperation between the two states, noting the need for this during the period of sanctions and the spread of coronavirus infection. Recall that earlier Abbas Mousavi acted as the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI).
