Croatian President: Our country is too dependent on tourism

At the Major Plans Day conference on September 23, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Tomislav Koric and the President of Croatia Zoran Milanovic in their speeches noted that the country is too dependent on tourism and in subsequent years should strengthen domestic production and exports. This was reported by the Croatian news agency Večernji list. The head of the National Bank of Croatia Boris Vujčić also spoke at the conference, who appreciated the chances of introducing the euro in the country. He stated that Croatia's accession to the European Monetary Mechanism during the coronation was a great success. He also indicated at what rate Croatia could exchange its national currency for the euro. As for the exchange rate, now it is determined by parity 7.5345, as you know, this is a course that, naturally, with small fluctuations, we will maintain before entering the eurozone. In other words, this is a rate that is likely to become the exchange rate of the national currency with which we enter the eurozone. To improve the course, it is necessary to develop other sectors of the Croatian economy, and not only tourism, Vujčić explained.
