Google presented a schedule for the closure of the Play Music service

The phased closure of the Google Play Music music service will last from September to December 2020. This was reported in the blog company Google. Google began working on the upcoming closure of the Play Music service about two years ago. This decision is due to the fact that Google decided to focus on the development of another music service of YouTube Music. In May 2020, Google announced the imminent closure of Play Music and urged users of this service to transfer their music libraries to YouTube Music. Play Music functions will begin to be limited from September of this year. From this month, streaming music services will become unavailable to residents of South Africa and New Zealand (and from October for residents of all other countries). Also, users will not be able to purchase new music albums through this service. Lists of works, music libraries, downloads and purchases will be stored in Play Music until December 2020. From January 2021, the service will be completely unavailable, and the possibility of transferring libraries to YouTube Music will also disappear. As previously reported by the news agency, in February, Google said that more than 20 million people use the paid service YouTube Music every month.
